Maturation
Loess is matured for a minimum of 12 months in new and one-year-old French oak barrels with a capacity of 225 l and 500 l. We bottle the wine in the spring of the second year and release it after the summer of that year.
Viticulture
We specially selected the grapes for this wine from three of our own selected vineyards; Corderilla, Carraboada 2 and Carravalcavado 2.
Harvest
Usually the harvest takes place in October, depending on the weather and the moment when the grapes are considered optimally ripe. We never rush the harvest, but let the grapes grow and ripen to ensure that they are selected in top quality. The grapes are carefully picked by hand and brought directly to the winery.
LOESS Blue is similar to a crianza wine. It is a fresh and aromatic wine, with structure, sweetness and a persistent taste. It is full of bright aromas such as wild fruits (red and black), vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon and coffee.
The wine undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats, and is then transferred to new premium French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation. It is aged for over twelve months.
